Lake Ippeki
Lake Ippeki is a crater lake formed by an eruption from about 100,000 years ago. With the surrounding mountains, greenery, and white clouds reflected on the lake’s surface, it attracts many visitors. During the fall foliage season, the trees become covered in red, making the lake especially beautiful. Rare flowers and plants can also be seen near the waterside, including clusters of amsonias which are said to be the only ones of its kind in Shizuoka. Many visitors come in search of the seasonal scenery that changes throughout the year.
